Chef Todd is an United States Army Veteran, a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY, and has over 18 years experience working in the industry. Chef Todd's love of food can be contributed to his Italian grandparents and mother, who exposed him to the art at a very young age. During his career with the United States Army, Chef Todd has had the pleasure and honor of cooking for the 42nd United States President, 4-Star Generals, other high ranking officials, and servicemen.
After running a food truck for several years in Northern Virginia, called Food Force One - where he also showcased his sauce, "Chef-T" - Chef Todd decided that a brick and mortar establishment would give him the maximum opportunity to be creative and continue to explore the world's ingredients.
For years, off and on, Chef Todd has searched for the perfect spot to become his "restaurant". By chance, he stumbled on Baltimore City's Little Italy. It took Chef Todd one visit and one sincere conversation with the Mugavero family to fall in love with the story of the late Mr. Marion "Mugs" Mugavero and Mugs' Bistro. For him, it was love at first site and everything about the Bistro felt right. For Chef Todd, it's about family, community, and great food. Chef Todd plans to be key part of Baltimore City and the Little Itaty community for a very long time.

Renovated in 2013, by son, Greg Mugavero, and daughter, Gayle Mugavero-Grimm, the Mugavero family and Chef Todd Sheppeard, the new owner and operator, are committed to keeping the memories and stories going. 70 years ago, Mr. Marion Mugavero, opened this modest little corner store in Baltimore's Little Italy. Mugs, as he was affectionly known to the locals, started this sandwich shop in 1947 and almost never missed a day of work. Serving sandwiches, sodas, and cakes to the neighborhood locals. Over time, not only did the store become a neighborhood landmark, but the man behind it did as well. Still to this day, in the neighborhood, you may hear a story or two told about the old fashioned way things used to be done.
